Behind the lens

I photograph the sky from a corner of my garden — far from the big cities, but never quite free of their glow — both through the telescope, for the deep sky, and with a wide-angle lens, for nightscapes and star trails.

For me, astrophotography is mostly about patience: adding up hours of exposure to draw out structures the eye will never see directly. Every image here is the result of several nights, sometimes spread over weeks, stacked and then carefully processed.

The owl with its telescope, watermarked on every frame, is my signature — a reminder that we watch mostly at night, and that it pays to wait.
